ABOUT THE AUTHOR

KEN PENDERS

Ken is the creator-writer-illustrator of THE LOST ONES, a graphic novel set in the not-too-distant future scheduled for publication late 2007/early 2008. Currently, he makes his living as a freelance writer and artist, accepting assignments involving screenplays, storyboards, character design, backgrounds, website graphics and even the occasional magazine cover, portrait or commissioned piece.

He has also written and illustrated the adventures of SONIC THE HEDGEHOG, KNUCKLES THE ECHIDNA and their friends for Archie Comics, leaving behind a body of work over the past decade unrivaled in the modern era of comics. In addition to his work for Archie Comics, Ken has written and illustrated stories for every major comics publisher including DC, Marvel, Image and Disney on such a diverse array of titles as STAR TREK: THE NEXT GENERATION, DISNEY ADVENTURES, SAVAGE SWORD OF CONAN, CAPTAIN ATOM, and GREEN HORNET among many others. He has also branched out into other media, producing children's activity books and creating graphics for CD-ROM games.

Born at some point during the turbulent years of the 20th century, Ken is very much a product of his times. Among his favorite experieces as a child were discovering Lee and Kirby's FANTASTIC FOUR, BATMAN in comics, on TV and in the movies, watching STAR TREK, reading DOC SAVAGE paperbacks and thrilling to his very first JAMES BOND film (Diamonds Are Forever).

Of all the creations Ken has set loose upon the world, the one he's most proud of and gives him the most joy is his son, STEPHEN. (Pictured at right.) More often than can be counted, Stephen has proved to be an invaluable source of inspiration and his dad's best critic. Not only that, he's a terrific kid to hang out with as well. I love him dearly.

Ken currently resides with his family in San Fernando Valley, CA where he enjoys rooting for his beloved BUFFALO BILLS to go to another Super Bowl. Anyone wishing to contact him for further information or discuss a freelance assignment is invited to do so.
